Chouffe Belgian Blond 750ML

La Chouffe is the original beer from Brasserie dAchouffe and one of the most recognisable Belgian strong blond ales around, complete with the little red hatted gnome who has somehow become an international ambassador for drinking 8% beer. First brewed more than 40 years ago, La Chouffe is a Belgian Blond Ale combining generous malt character with citrus, floral notes and a distinctive spicy finish.

Despite its 8% ABV, it remains remarkably fresh and drinkable, which is simultaneously its greatest strength and something worth keeping in mind when opening the big 750ml bottle. Tasting Notes Colour: Hazy golden-orange with a generous, persistent white foam head. Nose: Fresh citrus and floral aromas with Belgian yeast character, sweet malt and a distinctive peppery spice.

Palate: Full and rounded while retaining plenty of freshness. Citrus and soft fruit sit alongside sweet malt, floral notes and warming spice, with the 8% alcohol beautifully integrated rather than dominating the beer. The brewery describes La Chouffe's signature character as citrus-led with a pleasantly spicy finish.
